Why did Odysseus Find it Necessary to Kill all the Suitors?
In the final chapters of the Odyssey, Odysseus kills all of the suitors in his home and all of his disloyal servants.  It seems unreasonable that it would would be necessary for him to kill so many people.  If he wanted the suitors to leave, his mere return would have scared them off.  The more likely reason for him murdering all of them was that he wanted revenge.  He had returned from a long and treacherous journey  just to find his house overrun by people trying to take advantage of his wealth and family.   This enraged to the point where he mercilessly killed all of them.  And, killing his own servants is not rely necessary.
