Foreshadowing in Book 17
In book 14 Odessyeus meets the suitors in his home while he is disguised as a beggar.  As Odessyus walks, Homer writes, "[he was] sowing death for the suitors with every step he took." This quote foreshadows the death of suitors.  Telemachus also talks about Odessyus killing the suitors when he says, "That's the Odessyus I want the suitors to meet! They'd get married all right- to bitter death."  Homer also foreshadows that Athena wants to the suitors to go, writing,"...Not that the goddes had any intention of sparing  them."  In conclusion, the suitors death is very clearly foreshadowed in book 17.
