One Poem by: Anacreon
Ah tell me why you turn and fly, a
My little Thracian filly shy? a
Why turn askance b
That cruel glance, b
And think that such a dunce am I? a
O I am blest with ample wit c
To fix the bridle and the bit, c
And make thee bend d
Each turning-end d
In harness all the course of it. c
But now 'tis yet the meadow free e
And frisking it with merry glee; e
The master yet d
Has not been met d
To mount the car and manage thee. e

Rhyming is a very obvious sound device in this poem.  Rhyming, I think, reinforces the melodic nature of this Lyric poem.  The author of this poem used rhyme to create a light mood.  Alliteration is also used in lines six and seven.  This poem also has a consistent rhythm like most lyric poetry.  I think this poem's melodic nature gives it a much more happy mood.
